Factors Affecting Climate | Global Warming Control | Weather and Climate

 

• In this article, I am going to tell you about how climate is affected or changed/ Varies from place to place. The climate is affected by different factors distance from the equator, height, slope distance from the Sea, ocean currents, forest rivers and lakes, local wind, human activities, etc. affecting climate.

Three factors among them are described below :

1. Distance from the Equator

Imaginary circular lines divide the earth into the northern half and South and have what is called the Equator.

since the earth is spherical, the sunlight falls straightly to the equator throughout the year.

therefore, this area is very hot as we go away from the equator towards the north or South, the sunlight does not fall straight.

the inclined light rays pass through a thick layer of the atmosphere.

so, they lose heat resulting in low temperature. Therefore, as we go far from the equator the coldness gradually increases.

The polar region is covered by snow and ice throughout the year due to Extreme coldness.

2. Height From Altitude / Altitude from Sea Level

As the altitude of land increases, the temperature decreases. It is due to atmospheric pressure and the greenhouse effect.

similarly, with the decrease in altitude the temperature increases. at the altitude of every 160 - 165 m from the sea level,

the temperature decreases by 1 Degree Celsius.

Altitude is the main cause of high temperatures in the Terai reason and cold in the Himalayan region of Nepal.

3. Distance from Sea

the water heats up and cools slowly while the land heats up and cools fast. When land cools, the sea remains hot. Likewise,

when the land heats first, the sea remains cold.

the places nearby the sea are neither cold nor hot because hot air flows from the Sea to the land during the cold season and cold air flows from the Sea to the land during the hot season.

there is a moderate and suitable climate.

Rain Falls frequently near the sea because moist air flows in this region.
